Additional Relief for Japanese Nationals Impacted by the Recent Disaster

The USCIS is granting temporary relief measures to Japanese nationals in light of the recent disaster. These include expedited processing of advance parole and employment authorization documents where appropriate, expedited adjudication and approval, where possible, of requests for off-campus employment authorization for F-1 students experiencing severe economic hardship, expedited adjudication of immigrant visa petitions for immediate relatives of U.S. citizens and certain relatives of lawful permanent residents, and assistance for U.S. lawful permanent residents stranded in Japan without their permanent resident cards.
