The End of NSEERS

The National Security Entry-Exit Registration System (NSEERS, INS Special Registration) is a system for the registration of certain non-citizens (those from countries with high terrorism rates and which are predominantly muslim) within the United States, which began after the September 11 attacks. The program was indefinitely suspended on April 27, 2011. The program resulted in thousands of deportations, which may make some people happy. However, I am not aware that it significantly contributed to the war on terror. Attached is an article about the impact of NSEERS and its long-lasting effects on one person’s life.
